The Poachers is owned by Mike Wilder & Kelly Bingham.
We bought the lease on The Poachers and took over 3rd July 2007. Since we bought the lease the pub has continued to get better and better. After only 6 months, The Poachers was awarded the Pub and Entertainment award 2007/2008.
We added a number of TVs bringing the total number TVs up to 10, with one that goes outside. This has helped to make The Poachers the best place to view sports in the area. We have Sky Sports and Setanta Sports. We show many sporting events including:- Football, Rugby, Tennis, Boxing & Horse racing
There are 3 Pool tables, 1 Dart board, 3 Fruit Machines with £35 Jackpots, 2 Quiz Machines & a Digital Juke Box. In the next couple of weeks we will have a Texas Hold' Em poker machine.
We also have special offers on drinks and have guest bottled beers.
We run monthly events including live bands, Discos and Karaoke.
While we don't have a food menu, we do have fresh cooked pizzas and Roll Over Hot Dogs on sale and you are welcome to bring your own food in or even have it delivered here. All we ask is you purchase your drinks from us.
We are now open till 1am on Fridays and Saturday s (the bar shuts at 12:30).
Our first anniversary weekend was on 4th - 6th July. On Friday 4th July we had a Blues Brothers tribute band. On Saturday 5th July there was a fancy dress party with a guest DJ. On Sunday 6th July we had Karaoke.
On Thursdays we have the weekend warm up with house doubles & dash just £3, selected bottles £2 and a free juke box from 8pm.
There truly is something for everyone.
